We’re looking for an Engineering Team Lead to help us grow and mature the Zendesk Talk product. In this role you’ll provide a team with support to grow and perform. In addition, you’ll work as a code contributing Engineer, mainly in Ruby/Rails and JavaScript/React. This is a hands-on role, where you’ll spend 50% of your day in the codebase with the rest working on process improvement initiatives, mentoring and a guiding the team’s workflow.

Previous experience leading a team is a nice bonus but not essential for this role, as you will be supported by an Engineering Manager and a peer Team Lead. What you bring to the role:

Plenty of experience in building great products and some of that with Rails and/or React, ideally both.
Truly great communication and collaboration skills.
A passion for sustaining a healthy and effective work environment.

Nice to have:

Experience with distributed systems, and/or message queues, e.g. PubSub or Kafka.
Working at really big (think global!) scale.

Interview process:Our hiring process generally involves a coding exercise, a phone screen with the hiring manager and then a visit to our Dublin office to meet the rest of the team. We’ll try and keep it moving quickly and be as transparent as possible.
